South America & the Ancient Mayans
During the Autumn term, we will be studying South America as part of our Geography lessons and the Ancient Mayans as part of our History unit.
For our topic launch days, we generated interesting questions that we would like to learn about the Mayans, which we have recorded on leaves to create our Mayan pyramid and the surrounding rainforest. We also learnt about some of the creatures that inhabit South America, including the 'yellow banded dart frog'. We proceeded to use origami to create our own frogs, investigating the effect of different materials and discovering which result in the frogs jumping the highest.
This is just a small selection of the activities that we completed as part of our topic launch.
We hope you enjoy looking at some of our photos from our first week back, where we began to discover our exciting new topic.
