Swimming

Throughout the year, children in Years 4, 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to take part in swimming lessons to help them to achieve the National Curriculum Swimming Award. Children swim locally at Fenton Manor Sports Complex each for a term, where they are taught by a qualified swimming teacher to swim.

Please see below for when your child will take part in swimming lessons.

Autumn Term - Year 6

Spring Term - Year 5

Summer Term - Year 4

Swimming Kit

Please ensure that your child has a towel, a one-piece swimming suit/tight trunks, swimming cap for all girls and boys will need to wear one if their hair is long or it goes into their eyes when wet. If your child needs to wear goggles, a note needs to be written in their planner giving permission for this; however, please note that when your child completes their National Curriculum Swimming Award, they will not be allowed to wear these.

Awards

Your child will be tested throughout their time at swimming to see if they can pass the different swimming awards. Please click the link below to look at the different swimming awards your child could achieve and what they need to do to pass these.
